Origine géographique : l'espèce est endémique du Centre du Pérou (région de Lima) à l'extrême Nord -ouest de l'Argentine (Nord Jujuy) en passant par l'Ouest et le Centre de la Bolivie.

 

Statut dans la nature : en danger ; vulnérable ; pas globalement menacée ; fréquente ; abondante

Elevage en Europe : aucun ; occasionnel ; peu commun ; commun ; abondant.
