Origine géographique : l’espèce est originaire de l'Est de l'Himalaya (Bhoutan et Arunachal Pradesh en Inde) et du Sud de la Chine (Yunnan). Sa répartition est encore mal connue et les données de spécimens d'herbier indiquent qu'il est présent à des altitudes de 730 à 2750 m dans les forêts mixtes de feuillus et les forêts secondaires.
